Facilitates the nutrition care process in order to provide the patient with optimal medical nutrition therapy.

Posting Details

Shift: Day shift (8 hours) - in person. Required to work some holidays - no evenings/graves. 1 weekend per month required which involves coming into the hospital on Saturdays and being on-call remote Sundays
Full Time 40 hrs/weekly
Will provide inpatient nutrition therapy, nutrition support (parenteral and enteral), and nutrition education to a variety of patients in all patient care settings.

Scope

Counsels and instructs outpatients and/or families providing written instruction materials
Evaluates and documents patient and/or caregiver understanding of diet based on behavioral objectives.
Evaluates, interprets and uses pertinent current research relating to nutrition in order to develop and revise education materials and teaching outlines
Responds to telephone requests/referrals, sending information as appropriate.
Participates in programs and education for staff, patients and community.
Documentation and Billing.
Documents patient visits and bills patients for services according to established policy and procedures.
Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by service behavior standards.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with dietetic internship or equivalent is required
Registration with the ADA Commission on Dietitian Registration is required Current BLS or ability to obtain within three (3) months of hire is required

Physical Requirements:

Interact with others by effectively communicating, both orally and in writing.
Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
See and read computer monitors and documents.
Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.
May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies, bending, kneeling and reaching.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$25.58 - $39.49
