We are hiring: Recreation Case Manager

PTO

* Increased Accrual with Tenure: Accrual rates increase at 3 years, 5 years, and every subsequent 5-year mark, up to 25+ years.

* Pro Rata Basis: Accrual rates for employees working 20-30 hours per week are on a pro rata basis.

Starting Wage

* Salary: The starting salary for this position is $20.00-$22.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule

* Standard Hours: Flexible - may include nights and weekends for recreational events, can be discussed at interview.

Training

* Orientation: Alternatives provides thorough orientation and training for all new staff. You can expect a one-week orientation, where you will learn all about Alternatives and be prepared for your role. This first week is scheduled from 9 AM to 5 PM at our Alternatives Training Center.

To be a successful Recreation Case Manager, you will need the following skills and qualifications:

* Education: A Bachelor's degree in recreation and leisure studies or equivalent experience.

* Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate clients in various activities, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.

* Compliance: Ability to pass federal workplace drug screen and background checks.

* Licensing: A current and valid driver's license.

* Case Management: Excellent case management and documentation skills.

* Certification: Certification by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation is preferred.

* Experience: Experience working with offenders or in residential treatment settings is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

* Client Support:

* Help residents improve their quality of life, increase independence, confidence, and life skills through recreational activities.

* Implement recreation plans for all units managed by the RCM.

* Supervision and Security:

* Ensure close supervision of residents, with a particular focus on meeting the security requirements of the agency.

* Financial Management:

* Budget recreational funds and regularly balance these with accounting.

* Case Management:

* Develop and manage treatment goals, maintain detailed notes and documentation, and regularly update progress goals.

* Cultural Awareness:

* Be aware of and respect the cultural needs and standards of residents, including facilitating activities such as Native American sweats.

* Resilience and Life Skills: Building resilience and life skills through meaningful, goal-oriented participation in recreational activities.

* Quality of Life: Enhancing clients' quality of life by increasing their independence, confidence, and skills.
