Job SummaryAccountable and responsible twenty-four hours per day for managing, guiding, developing, and implementing safe clinical practice and high-quality patient care throughout St.
Dominic Stroke Services program.
Works collaboratively with EMS, hospital administrators, physicians, nursing staff, and various other hospital staff members to improve clinical outcomes and processes of care for all stroke patients at St.
Dominic Hospital and throughout our network of care.
Utilizes in-depth knowledge of neurology to drive improvement through various roles and alliances.
This position will identify opportunities for growth and expansion throughout the State of Mississippi.
Accountable for the development of stroke-ready programs, personnel, and quality throughout our network.
Accountable for adherence to all regulatory and professional standards.
Leads in promoting the Christian mission of healing and nurturing in the program, throughout the organization, and in the community.
Reports to Neuroscience Service Line Administrator.
Major problem-solving responsibilities of this position include the understanding of economic, demographic and governmental changes impacting the state healthcare system; anticipating and measures competitor strategies, market shares, and impacts on rural outreach education with patient services delivered through St.
Dominic Hospital.
Nursing certification is required for this role.Job RequirementsBachelor's degree in health-related subject.
NursingMinimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role.Sound technical, critical thinking and teamwork skills required.
Must be skilled in physical and mental health assessment, diagnosis, treatment, pharmacology and advanced clinical practice.
Must demonstrate ability to recognize patients' individual needs based on medical conditions, age limitations and planned procedures.Holds a current Mississippi license without restrictions as a health care professional.Job ResponsibilitiesPatient ExperienceCoordinates the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of St.
Dominic Hospital and in all partnering facilities.Conducts patient rounds while utilizing clinical expertise to aggregate, assess, and interpret information.
Reviews patient encounters, identifying items for performance/process improvement.Coordinates stroke performance improvement, patient safety forums, and committees.Manages new stroke initiatives by identifying and overcoming barriers to clinical care.
Manages all aspects of the stroke program using planning, execution and monitoring and controlling processes.Responsible for issue identification, issue validation, issue analyses and initiates follow-up to assure loop closure to improve clinical outcomes and patient care.Financial SuccessIdentify areas of improvement; using this data to develop educational programs, action plans to address quality issues identified and to ensure follow through of developed plans.Conduct analysis of program functions and needs and determine best evidence-based practice that evaluate the Stroke Program, work with program directors and managers to implement practice protocols.Operational ExcellenceServes as a leader of the stroke workgroups/committees and is an active driver in strategic planning for the Stroke Program.
Communicates and coordinates with departments and services on a daily basis to provide an efficient and quality service.Oversees the preparation for Joint Commission certification surveys.Serves as a resource for staff regarding quality and process improvement recommendations.

Counsels and trains staff members to increase awareness of adverse trends and participation in interdisciplinary process improvement.Instructs others on pertinent standards and guidelines; ensures these standards and guidelines are adhered to.Serves as a resource/mentor to bedside staff within the stroke service line.Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
