Job Type: Full Time
Experience Two (2) years of Clinical nursing experience is preferred.
Education: Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner Program (Master's Degree).
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Position Summary:

A Nurse Practitioner offer autonomous nursing care to patients in a clinical setting. Primary duties include advising patients on medical and nursing needs, assessing patients in their care and providing them with treatment plans and health education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Under the direction of the clinic physician(s), the Nurse practitioner performs clinical assessment and management of assigned patients' continuum of care.
Carrying out clinical examination of patients in their care.
Performing diagnosis based on their assessment of the patient.
Taking specimen (blood, urine, etc.) samples and ordering tests samples.
creating short or long-term treatment plans and prescribing medications based on test findings.
Performing routine medical procedures.
Performing periodic evaluations of their patients and referring them to specialists as necessary.
Provide general and preventative care.
Renders services within the scope of practice by the Mississippi Board of Nursing and clinic protocols.
Subject to irregular hours.
May be required to wear personal protective equipment as directed.
Follow infection control and isolation guidelines.
Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
License and Certification(s): Current Mississippi Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult Nurse Practitioner, or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner licensure is required.
Prescribing privileges through Mississippi Board of Nursing and Drug Enforcement Agency.
BLS is required.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, physicians, and hospital staff
Basic computer skills

In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures
Working knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations
Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
Conducts clinical hourly rounding

Physical Requirements:

The Nurse Practitioner must have the ability to move around freely, walk and stand for long periods of time; use stomach and lower back muscles to support the body for long periods without getting tired; use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls; bend or twist their body; understand the speech of another person and speak clearly so listeners can understand; and see details of objects that are less than a few feet away and at a distance.
