Ergon Inc. in Flowood, MS currently has an opening for a Product Stewardship Specialist II in the Product Stewardship Department.

Ergon also produces, markets, and/or distributes paving asphalt, asphalt emulsions, specialty coatings, sealants, and other road construction and maintenance products from over thirty owned or leased asphalt and emulsions plants across the United States.

The Product Stewardship Specialist II implements and audits regulatory programs related to the domestic and international distribution and registration of products and chemical substances manufactured by Ergon, Inc. The Product Stewardship Specialist II serves as Ergon's subject matter expert on emerging regulations and communicates impacts to Ergon companies.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in chemistry, biology, or engineering

• 3 -5 years' experience in regulatory would be beneficial

• Able to travel 10-20% to the company sites/conferences

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage time across multiple project areas

• Hazardous Materials Certification (DOT, IATA, IMDG)

• Certified Professional Product Steward (CPPS) credentials would be beneficial

R E S P O N S I B I L I T I E S

The Product Stewardship Specialist II is responsible for implementing and auditing programs related to chemical and product compliance. This role will provide expertise as the internal expert on chemical management regulations for the US and International markets.

KEY ROLE DUTIES:

• Manage requirements for chemical reporting (i.e., Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA), Toxic Release Inventory (TRI), EU Restriction, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), etc.)

• Complete raw material regulatory checklist for external customers and field questions from internal and external customers regarding product compliance status

• Provide regulatory support to internal and external customer with regards to Federal, State, and international regulations as they pertain to our products use, transport, import/export and sustainability

• Conduct internal audits of procedures related to Product Stewardship

• Develop reports or presentations to communicate the Product Stewardship related activities

• Participate in trade association, as needed, to support Ergon's Business Units

• Provide support to other roles within Product Stewardship (i.e., Hazard Communication Specialist, Sustainability Specialist, Global Product Stewardship Manager, and VP-Product Stewardship)

• Assist with other ad-hoc analysis needs for the Product Stewardship Department

• Mentor junior staff in existing processes and applicability of regulations

• Develop skills necessary for CPPS and/or HazMat Certification

• Provide support for Ergon's sustainability efforts (e.g., LCAs, contributions to the Doing Right report, industry committee involvement)
