Description:
Signed contracts for 36 or 48 hours per week options are available.
The unit is dedicated to general surgery and trauma care.
Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5.
Weekend work is required every other weekend.
Clinicians will float within their scope to meet facility needs.
Block scheduling is not accommodated.
The job does not accept local candidates within a 75-mile radius.
Pending licenses are accepted.
Requesting time off should not exceed 7 days within a 13-week contract.
Missed shifts should be made up as soon as possible if able.
No more than 3 tardies and 2 call-ins are allowed within a 13-week contract.
Preferred experience includes trachs, wound care, dressings, wound vacs, tubes, and drains.
Patients are admitted from the emergency department, operating room, or ICU.
The unit provides care for geriatric trauma, acute care surgery cases like appendicitis, gallbladders, hernia repairs, and more.
Special equipment used includes lifts, restraints, wound vacs, traction, and external fixators.
This position is at a short-term acute care facility, which is a teaching hospital with Level I Trauma Center capabilities.
The hospital requires wearing navy blue scrubs.
Flu vaccination is required except for medical or religious exemptions.
All travelers may float within the service line.
Candidates are expected to complete modules pre-start, which are billable.
Orientation is provided for 40 hours.
