Project Manager

Overview:

The Project Manager bears the full responsibility to oversee that the construction is performed according to specification, in the most efficient manner according to schedule and under budget.
For this to happen the Project Manager is expected, among other things, to follow all project related procedures and of most importance, company policy.
To accomplish these expectations the following procedures and guidelines have been established to facilitate the process.

• Planning and Scheduling:
  Make a thorough study of the project to be performed.
  Discuss your plans, schedules, and details.
  Problems etc.
  with your Division Personnel and your Management team.
  Asses your needs fully including personnel, equipment, materials, etc.
  and the time frame feasible for performance.
  Determine your best course of action and continue planning throughout the project for possible improvements.
  As part of the planning phase the following items are the responsibility of the Project Manager:
  Field Office Site Plan, Trailers, Permits and Fees, Establishing Utilities, Employee Parking, Temp.
  Roads, Lay Down Areas, Tool Cribs, Insurance & Bonds, Safety & First Aid.
  

• Project Coordination:
  The Project Manager is the Company's top representative at the project.
  Thus, the Project Manager shall attend all progress meetings with the Owner/Engineer and ensure that all required documents are submitted to the Owner in a timely manner.
  The Project Manager should conduct internal scheduling meetings with the Superintendents, Foremen and Subcontractors on a regular basis in order to properly coordinate work areas, labor, equipment, material and survey needs.
  In addition, it is expected that Pre-Activity Meetings be conducted prior to significant items of work (ie.
  Asphalt, concrete deck placements, girder/beam erection, traffic shifts, etc.
  ) to discuss the responsibilities, means & methods (equipment, labor, etc.
  ), MOT requirements, safety aspect, quality control requirements, etc.
