Role Overview

We are thrilled to offer a rewarding opportunity as a Mechanic / CDL Class B Driver within our USA Commercial team. In this unique blended role, you will drive and operate Orica's bulk trucks (Mobile Mixing Units) and actively participate in the installation of blasting products for various local sites. This role allows you to work in a hands-on environment while ensuring the proper upkeep and maintenance of our equipment.

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday
7 AM - 3 PM (hours may vary)
Home every night
Local driving (2-3 hours)
Overtime may be required

Key Responsibilities

Drive (40%) and perform physical work (60%) related to installation.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including fluid checks.
Safely hook up and unhook trailers as needed.
Drive emulsion tanker trucks and box trucks.
Ensure proper handling and storage of raw materials and hazardous goods.
Minimize environmental impact through waste control.
Report incidents and participate in safety meetings.
Install, maintain, and repair site mechanical equipment.
Perform preventive maintenance on the company's bulk trucks.
Work on hydraulics, electrical systems, and electronic equipment.

Qualifications

Minimum of one year experience in driving and handling materials preferred.
Strong knowledge of DOT regulations.
Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Detail-oriented with solid math skills for inventory management.
Familiarity with machine operations, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Internet, and SAP.
Self-starter with flexibility in adapting to schedule changes.
Capable of conducting multiple tasks and effective communication with team and customers.

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in various weather conditions.
Lift up to 60 pounds and carry over 50 pounds of materials.
Load products, pull hoses, and climb on/off the truck safely.
Frequent bending and squatting may be required.

Your Qualifications

Class B CDL required (Class A preferred).
Tanker, Hazmat, and Air Brake endorsements preferred; we support obtaining these endorsements.
High School diploma or equivalent.
2-3 years of mechanical experience preferred.

Compensation

Hourly Pay Range: $24.00 - $27.50
Signing Bonus: $4,500
