Role Overview

The Certified Surgical Assistant is integral in assisting surgeons during approved surgical procedures, working directly under the supervision of the operating surgeon.

Qualifications

High school diploma required.
Completion of a Surgical Tech First Assistant or Certified Surgical Assistant Program required.
Certification as a Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) must be obtained within two years of completing the first assistant course.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant surgical assisting experience required.
Certifications such as Certified (CST) from AST, ABSA, or NBSTSA are preferred upon hire.
AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
AHA ACLS Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support is preferred upon hire.

Work Schedule

Variable hours, with a commitment of 40 hours per week and flexible weekend duty.
