Reporting to the Sr Vice President Regional Markets, the Division President - Upper Peninsula - Michigan will provide strategic leadership to support, optimize, and execute performance of the assigned Aspirus' Division. This will be carried out in support and commitment to Aspirus' Strategic Pillars:
Quality, Service, People, Growth, and Finance, and in concert with the overall strategic direction of the Aspirus Health System. The President will promote a regional culture of accountability, collaboration, and integration that enhances the provision of excellent patient care/satisfaction and fiscal accountability, while maintaining and supporting the Division's and Aspirus' strategic objectives.
Experience/Qualifications:

Knowledge and experience in the following normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor of Science degree in a related field; master's degree desired:

Leadership training and experience
Financial management
Lean methodology and/or related knowledge
Financial budgeting
Customer service methods
Strategic planning
Effective communication and employee engagement

Seven to ten years of progressive experience in a related public or private sector field.
Evidence of continued professional development such as membership in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Solid implementation skills. Consistently follows through on commitments.
Prior COO or CEO experience at a hospital or health system of similar size or senior executive experience at a larger provider; or equivalent experience in a related service industry.
Executive leadership experience in a competitive environment.
Possesses strategic leadership and business skills in a matrixed environment.
Thorough understanding of regulatory and accreditation standards. Experience in developing effective relationships with all stakeholders including physicians.
Experience in developing alignment strategies across a health system.
Knowledge of a healthcare system and its major components with emphasis on provider leadership.

Aspirus Ontonagon Hospital , a licensed 18-bed Critical Access Hospital, is dedicated to serving the residents of Ontonagon County and the surrounding areas. You will find a wide range of services, some of which you might not normally expect to find in a small rural setting including 24/7 Emergency Department, in-house services such as Imaging, CT, Ultrasound, Laboratory, Infusion, Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy, Swing Bed, and an attached Clinic. Our average admissions are 700 per year with 3,000 annual ER visits. We also have an outpatient physical therapy department located across the street from the hospital.
Ontonagon is located in Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula, on the south shore of Lake Superior and close to the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park and Ottawa National Forest.
