Military Intel. Systems Maintainer/Integrator (MOS 35T) are part of a team whose job is to help maintain national security by keeping complex computer systems, hardware, software, and networks up and running.
If equipment is damaged, they must repair and update systems to keep information flowing so they can provide near real time support to soldiers in the armed forces world-wide.
This Army MOS requires excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to figure out and fix complex issues on the spot.

Image: Army. mil This position will teach you skills in system maintenance (hardware, software, network) and complex equipment such as peripheral equipment, computer-controlled architecture, and national cryptologic systems.
Someone who has served in the Peace Corps may not apply for this position and do not qualify. This is because the agenda of the military and the humanitarian mission of the Peace Corps should have balance.
This position requires you to score at least 112 on the skilled technical (ST) area of ASVAB tests.
You must be a United States citizen to hold this position as well as have passed an eye exam to make sure you're not color blind.
You must pass a background check and have no criminal history or history of drug abuse. This is because you will be handling sensitive information and will need to pass a security clearance. You will need a clean background and character references for this.
Once you have completed all medical exams, and security clearances (position requires top-secret clearance from the Department of Defense) you will attend bootcamp for 10 weeks at
After bootcamp is completed, you will start the 39-42 weeks of advanced individual training where you will train hands on with equipment and technology.
The AIT training for MOS 35T is conducted at Fort Huachuca, located just outside Sierra Vista, Arizona.
This training will provide you with what you need in the field to accomplish high pressure tasks as well as training in test measurement and diagnostic systems, biometrics and high tech devices used in electronic warfare.
They will certify you in the administration of the devices and systems that you will need to help guide military intelligence.

Military intelligence is one of the most important aspects of warfare; To find the enemy, know where they are, and to never lose sight of them.
For this reason, a systems maintainer must be able to use a broad range of technology. They learn from the ground up how to build computer systems, take them apart, diagnose them, maintain them and keep them running.
They oversee many operations including testing and repairing systems, running networks, communications devices, retrieving data and analyzing information.
They will be using mechanical equipment and diagnostic tools such as those needed to work on electronic equipment and specialized military equipment.
Alongside the equipment the systems manager must be able to follow the correct diagrams, schematics and flow charts that they learned in training.

Many of the skills learned in training will be used daily in order to keep operations on track.
Systems will run and be executed, in fixed, wireless, and portable connections.
The military systems maintainer must be able to extract information from communications devices of any kind and assess and relay that intelligence.
Higher ranking soldiers give order to lower ranks, and oversee operations, sometimes giving training in the field as well as returning to Base to instruct others at times.

The Military Intel Systems Maintainer position also supervises employment and monitors command, control, and communications.
On missions and operations the system maintainer also helps run the surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) type systems.
It helps if you have an interest in math and some knowledge in computer systems.
