Description:
An oral oncolytic clinic nurse, is a registered nurse with oncology-specific clinical knowledge who helps manage patient's oral oncolytic regimens.
This includes, but not limited to:
managing toxicities, adherence to medication, tracking lab results, facilitating prior authorization and triaging financial constraints.
Utilizing the nursing process, an oral oncolytic nurse provides education and resources to facilitate informed decision-making and timely access to quality health care.

Facilitates appropriate care, assists patients and families in finding and negotiating that care.
Facilitates appropriate utilization of resources and efficient patient progression through the continuum of health care resulting in the highest quality and cost effective care.
