Summary:
The School of Communications at Grand Valley State University is seeking new faculty members to teach part-time as adjunct instructors.
The positions will begin late August 2024.
The School of Communications faculty place a premium on the abilities and skills of the applicant to integrate theory and practice in the successful teaching of courses.

Required Qualifications and Education:

A master's degree in advertising, communication, journalism, public relations, or a closely related field (or a combination of a bachelor's degree and equivalent industry experience) is required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, such as the ability to interact with others with respect and empathy.

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

Previous university teaching experience.

Responsibilities:

Teach a course or courses in the Advertising and Public Relations, Communication Studies, or Journalism, Broadcasting, and Digital Media undergraduate programs.
This assignment may include courses such as Concepts of Communication, Technology in Public Relations and Advertising, Speech, Digital Journalism Workshop, Foundations of Communication Research, Debate, Global Communication, and/or other courses based on experience.
Duties include attending some School of Communications meetings, as appropriate.

Commensurate with qualifications.

The School of Communications is housed in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and offers major programs in Advertising and Public Relations, Communication Studies, Health Communication, and Journalism, Broadcasting, and Digital Media.
