Medical Technician (Administrative Support)
ROLE
We need a Medical Technician for the Medical Service Branch of the U. S. Government Publishing Office (GPO). GPO's mission is to provide publishing and dissemination services for official and authentic government publications to Congress, Federal Agencies, and the public. Your role as a Medical Technician is to support the Medical Service Branch by performing a variety of clerical and administrative duties. You will work closely with the lead nurse, Medical Officer, and other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of medical services. This includes scheduling, communication, and managing medical documentation while maintaining confidentiality. RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedule pre-employment physicals, exams, and screenings; coordinate with recruiters on medical statuses.
Serve as a liaison for offsite physicals and drug screens.
Assist with onboarding by coordinating drug screenings and tracking results.
Assist with medical surveillance programs, including scheduling tests and managing medical questionnaires.
Handle various administrative tasks in the Medical Services unit, adapting to changing priorities.
Maintain calendars for appointments, compose routine correspondence, and manage confidential records.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
Experience with electronic medical record systems and HC Dashboard (after training).
Knowledge of medical terminology (course work or experience required).
Proficient in computer usage and clerical procedures.
Strong command of English grammar and office communication skills.
Ability to maintain tact and discretion in all interactions.
REQUIRED EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS
GED or High School Diploma.
Medical Office Assistant training or certification.
