Description

The Enrollment and Retention Counselor (ERC) initiates and supports new student enrollment, facilitating the applicant experience from the first phone call or email. This includes offering one-on-one advising, assisting with the admissions process, answering enrollment questions, and ensuring a smooth transition into the classroom. This is accomplished by receiving inbound information calls, but primarily through making outbound warm sales calls to adult, working professional prospective students who have requested information about UNE's online programs. The ERC also provides robust and accurate reporting to team members and supervisors, assists in on-the-job training and onboarding for new staff members, and contributes feedback on current trends in higher education enrollment, sales tactics, and best practices.

Responsibilities

Conduct high-volume inbound and outbound calls to meet admission metrics, maintaining daily call standards and industry best practices.
Meet enrollment and retention targets individually and as a team, following lead management strategies and documenting all contacts in the CRM database.
Provide excellent customer service to students through application and enrollment process.
Conduct personal interviews to qualify candidates and explain admission requirements, delivery methods, and course structure in order to successfully meet/exceed enrollment targets.
Handle appointments, interviews, and applications in a professional and timely manner.
Promote the program's benefits to potential students by completing a full needs analysis, ensuring that students meet the application criteria for admissions and handling any prospective students' objections.
Maintain CRM database integrity with accurate, detailed documentation.
Communicate effectively and professionally, both in writing and verbally, with students, team members, and other academic departments.
Assist with on-the-job training for new staff members, and actively contribute feedback on sales tactics, best practices, and strategies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree required, plus three to five years of sales experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired.
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse audience.
Friendly, professional sales approach, with the ability to influence and inspire confidence in prospective students.
General knowledge of higher education and sales processes.
Proficient in MS Office and experience with sales databases.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, student-centered environment, managing multiple tasks while staying responsive and organized.
Strong work ethic, personal integrity, and professionalism, maintaining confidentiality and discretion at all times.
Ability to adapt and stay organized in a dynamic and time-sensitive setting.
Flexibility to work various shifts, accommodating inquiries across different time zones, with shifts ranging from 8:30 AM to 10:00 PM EST. Some Saturday hours may be required.
