Tax Manager Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee the preparation and review of federal and state income tax returns for businesses, individuals, and trusts
Provide tax planning and consulting services to clients, ensuring compliance with current tax laws and regulations
Conduct research on complex tax issues and provide guidance to clients and staff
Develop and maintain client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor
Train and mentor staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development

Tax Manager Essential Job Functions:

Prepare and review tax returns, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines
Analyze client financial information to identify tax-saving opportunities and develop strategies to minimize tax liability
Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to provide accurate and timely advice to clients
Collaborate with other departments to identify cross-functional opportunities and provide integrated solutions for clients
Maintain accurate client records and documentation for tax compliance purposes

Tax Manager Skills:

5+ years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on tax
CPA certification is required
Strong leadership skills and ability to effectively engage with clients
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite
Exceptional organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
