Shift: Nights / 7p-7a, 12x3, 36 hrs per week, no call

Length: 13 weeks

Weekend rotation: every other; Sat/Sun
Holiday Expectations: expected to work holidays in rotation

Requirements:

ME license
Minimum 1 year of Behavioral Health nursing experience
Skills : De-escalation experience, experience with physical restraints (chemical restraints are NOT used), medication passes, comfortability to run groups, documentation
BLS
MOAB
Pediatric BH experience preferred

Other:

Float - between all pediatric units
Will accept a first-time traveler
Patient Ratios: RN: Day - 1:5-6; Night - 1:13 with resource support (including Nursing support)
Charting System/Equipment: Cerner, Pyxis

Patient Types:

Free standing acute inpatient facility - contracted ER 5 min away
All patients come from an ED and are medically cleared
not typical to have lines, drains, tubes, etc.
Children and Adolescents receiving inpatient Mental Health services - ages 5 - 18
Common diagnoses include, but are not limited to: Eating Disorders, Depression, Suicidal Ideation, Anxiety, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Gender Dysphoria
Traditional medical and psychiatric care in addition to specialized therapies such as: pet therapy, group sessions, recreation therapy (rock wall), community gardens

Support on the Unit:

Nurse Supervisor - available evenings/weekends
Nurse Manager - days
House Administrator - available overnight and weekends
Charge nurse - has patient assignment
Psych Techs
Contracted Phlebotomist for lab draws
Nurse Practitioner; on site until 1600 and then on call overnight
Psychiatrist - daily rounds and On Call 0000-0600
Occupational Therapist - 0, 7 days per week
Security on site - will not respond to patient escalations (staff from all 6 units within the facility, to include Techs and Nurses, respond to patient escalations)
