Job Details Eastern Maine Medical Center Level II Trauma Center seeks Critical Care Float Pool RNs.
Work with Multispecialty Critical Care patients, including Stroke, ICP monitoring, EVD Drains, spinal precautions, DKA, Sepsis, Multisystem trauma, COVID, STEMI, NSTEMI, Heart failure.
Float to ER Hold/Obs and care for MedSurg level patients.
Patient Ratios 1:2 patient ratio, may get 3rd patient as one is being downgraded. ER Hold/Obs: 1:4-5 depending on acuity.
Job Requirements 2 years of experience required. Neuro and Trauma experience is essential.
Ventilator management
Critical care drips/titration
Cardiac rhythm interpretation
Measuring cardiac strips
Drains, chest tubes, hemodynamic lines: art lines/CVP
Stroke experience
Schedule Information Weekend rotation: Every other day. Day shift: Sat/Sun. Night shift: Fri/Sat. No on call or holiday expectations.
Unit Specific Information This is a float pool position that floats between all levels of care. Includes floating into the ED to take ED holds and/or ED Observation patients.
