Job Overview: A law firm in Montgomery County is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its practice in creditor's rights, secured transactions, bankruptcy, debt collection, and litigation. This role offers flexibility with part-time or full-time options and provides an opportunity for professional growth, with the potential for a permanent position based on performance.
Duties:
Represent clients in court appearances.
Interact with clients and defendants regarding case matters.
Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, discovery documents, and other legal filings.
Manage trial court cases and related litigation tasks.
Handle creditor's rights matters, including secured transactions, bankruptcy proceedings, replevin actions, and debt collection.
Requirements:
Admission to the Bar in Maryland, Washington D.C., and Virginia.
Strong analytical and legal writing skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple case deadlines.
Trial court experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
Bar Admission in Maryland (Required).
Bar Admission in Washington D.C. and Virginia (Preferred).
Skills:
Proficiency in legal research and drafting pleadings.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to handle sensitive client matters with professionalism and discretion.
Flexible work schedule, including part-time or full-time options.
