Clinical Nurse (RN) - Transitional Care Unit

Put your nursing expertise to work at a Magnet-designated, university-affiliated hospital located just six blocks from Baltimore's Inner Harbor by joining the team at Mercy Medical Center's Transitional Care Unit (TCU).

Our Clinical Nurses in TCU independently provide continuing care and complex treatments to patients presenting with varied medical and surgical interventions. Working with a dedicated rehabilitation team, the RN provides evidence-based, high-quality patient care and safety, and serves as a resource for other team members.

Responsibilities:

Certification Requirements: Current Healthcare Provider CPR/BLS upon hire • Specialty Certifications: PACU, ICU, Cath Lab, Angiography, Lung Center, McAuley Surgery Center - ACLS within 1 year of hire or 6 months of promotion ED - ACLS within 6 months of hire/promotion & ENPC or PALS within 1 year Mother/Baby, NICU/PEDS - NRP within 6 months of hire/promotion Labor & Delivery - NRP within 6 months of hire/promotion and EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) within 1 year of hire Telemetry - ACLS within 1 year of hire, within 18 months of hire if new grad Chemotherapy Clinic (Outpatient Chemo) - ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) certification within 1 year of hire and OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification within 2 years of hire • Other Requirements: Critical thinking Adaptability Prioritization • License Requirements: RN License • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public. Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Education and Work Experience:

Must possess a high school diploma or GED

Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and successfully completed the State Board of Nursing Licensure Exam

BSN Preferred

Must possess 1 year of current clinical experience

Must obtain 20 Contact hours per year, fifty percent of which must be clinically focused. Academic course credits may be used on a 1:1 credit hour exchange.
