Position Summary The lead position performs essential customer service duties for the UNMC Bookstore. These duties include completing and troubleshooting customer transactions, facilitating customer orders, counting cash drawers, completing daily deposits, and other financial and accounting functions. This position also provides cashier training, student worker and other hourly supervision, online order fulfillment, ordering for special department orders and trade books, and shipping (internal and external) and receiving. Under the supervision of the Business Manager and with direction from the Assistant Manager - General Merchandise and the Assistant Manager- Course Materials, this position assists in coordinating and setting up apparel displays, managing visual merchandising and stockroom organization. This position is responsible for ordering merchandise and maintaining inventory with limited direction and input by the Assistant Manager - General Merchandise, ensuring effective stock levels. This position will also facilitate various events on campus and off-site. Any of the aforementioned duties may also be assigned at the UNMC C-Store. Other duties may also be assigned to assist at the UNO Bookstore, or other locations during special events.
Job Duties Cashier Duties:
Perform cashier duties including completing and troubleshooting customer transactions, facilitating customer orders, counting cash drawers, completing daily deposits, providing cashier training and general supervision of student workers and other hourly employees, customer service, online order fulfillment, shipping (internal and external) and receiving, and other related financial and accounting functions. Inventory Management:
Responsible for maintaining inventory and placing re-orders for medical apparel, trade books, store use materials, and other supplies. Maintain lab coat embroidery orders. Help with special projects or other assignments related to marketing, e-commerce, inventory, textbook duties, etc. as needed. Percentage Of Time:
Apparel Floor Management:
Coordinate and execute apparel floor set and visual displays under the direction of the Assistant Manager - General Merchandise. Help manage stockrooms and other related duties. Percentage Of Time:

Required and Preferred Qualifications Required Education:
High school education or equivalent
Required Experience:
At least 3 years of retail sales experience. Cashiering and cash handling experience.
Preferred Experience:
Previous direct/indirect supervision of others, previous bookstore experience, previous experience with general merchandise floor sets, visual displays and stockroom management.
