Position: Commercial Title Officer
Full-Time: 40 hours Mon - Fri 8am -5pm EST
Location: Baltimore, MD ( Onsite role)
Assignment: 12/02/2024 - 1/03/2025

(temp to perm for right candidate)
Pay: $25.50 - $28.00hourly, paid weekly.
Schedule: 8am - 5pm

Duties:
Underwrites, researches, and writes Title Policies, primarily for commercial transactions, in accordance with internal and external policies and regulations.

Essential Functions
Examine title searches or Abstract reports for the preparation of Commitments for Title Insurance.
Prepares appropriate write-ups for commitments and policies with extended coverage.
Properly prices commitments, endorsements and policies using appropriate schedule of fees and charges
Completes calculations of Maryland recording taxes based on multistate/multijurisdictional transactions.
Familiar with all aspects of title work
Properly prices commitments, endorsements, policies and guarantees using appropriate schedule of fees and charges
Utilizes technical bulletins to evaluate and resolve problems
Selects appropriate write-ups for commitments and policies both standard and extended coverage and writes error-free
instructions to production typist for same
Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Familiarity with company operating systems and knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, strongly desired
Must be self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to research independently as needed
Must be able to keep up in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Ability to manage and balance multiple projects
Detail / quality orientation
Analytical review skills
Research skills
Strong problem-solving skills
3-5 years title/related real estate experience

Education:
High School diploma or equivalent
College Degree preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS:
May on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels, such as from office equipment.
The ability to lift up to 30lbs
Use of computers and technology
