Job Summary

US Engine Valve seeks a skilled Manufacturing Engineer - System Designer to join our team. This role will be responsible for designing and specifying advanced electrical, mechanical, and computer-controlled systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine function, processes, control systems, CNC, PLC, servo drives, stepper motor drives, and electrical/electronic systems. This position requires technical knowledge in mechanical design, capital equipment justification, project scheduling, and managerial planning. The successful candidate will be able to mentor and develop maintenance personnel, assist other plants/facilities with technical problems, and manage assigned project tasks.

Responsibilities

• Design control systems for machine tools, including electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

• Select capital equipment for manufacturing processes and improve current machine tools to increase uptime, quality, and productivity.

• Provide engineering support to production equipment and processes, including advising maintenance and establishing programs for cost savings activities to support overall plant requirements.

• Advise in improving preventative maintenance programs and consult with suppliers and internal engineers for continuous improvement programs.

• Authorize and approve changes to machine tool programs, train associates on new technologies and manufacturing processes, and maintain and follow Quality Management System and Environmental Management System requirements.

• Involvement in teams and champion team activities, track and accumulate cost savings, and PFMEAs: understand the use of PFMEAs within our organization; develop, maintain, and review PFMEAs as needed/required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution required.

• Position requires technical knowledge in machine function, processes, control systems, CNC, PLC, servo drives, stepper motor drives, and electrical/electronic systems.

• Position requires technical knowledge in mechanical design, capital equipment justification, project scheduling, and managerial planning.

• Detailed abilities in capital equipment justification, project scheduling, and managerial planning. Human relations are essential.

• Mentor and develop maintenance personnel.

• Assist other plants/facilities with technical problems.

• Applicant must be capable of self-managing assigned project tasks.
