Position Summary:
The Mammography Technologist performs technical activities associated with screening mammography procedures to obtain high quality images of the breasts and serves as an integral part of providing an exceptional patient care experience.
Scheduling flexibility/options:
Guaranteed 40 hours/week with designated shift. M - F, 4 - 10/hr days with rotating day off!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate mammographic and other imaging equipment/devices in accordance with organizational protocols
Position patients, using immobilization when necessary
Evaluate radiographs for image quality, adjusting position, density, or contrast and obtaining additional images as needed
Explain screening procedures to patients
Prepare exam rooms and equipment for studies, ensuring cleanliness and adequate stock/inventory of clinical supplies
Obtain, verify, and document all pertinent information for patient visits, including patient clinical history and prior imaging
Identify care requirements relative to each patient's age-specific needs
Use radiation safety measures and protective devices to comply with government regulations and ensure the safety of patients and staff
Assist with onboarding and training new Mammography Technicians
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of a 24-month AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology
ARRT certification in radiography
ARRT advanced certification in mammography BLS CPR certification
1+ years of Mammography experience preferred
Diagnostic Mammography Training experience a plus
