IT Manager

Position Summary:

The IT Manager is a business leader accountable for guidance, planning, execution, and support on behalf of internal stakeholders that enables the effective use of technology to attain business objectives. The IT Manager is a trusted advisor who advocates for business stakeholders to ensure IT services are efficiently delivered and meet their business requirements and concurrently promotes IT's vision, value, services, and capabilities. The incumbent must communicate clearly, negotiate, listen, mitigate conflict, build alliances, and achieve desired results using effective interpersonal and diplomacy skills. Working across organizational boundaries, the IT Manager applies knowledge of technology risks and opportunities to drive innovations and attain operating excellence by improving the efficiency and effectiveness of business systems and business processes. The IT Manager drives IT services' design, implementation, and day-to-day delivery. The IT Manager effectively influences business leadership and management decisions and drives ownership and acceptance of changes to the business.

Essential Functions:

• Demonstrates technical, change management, project management, systems thinking, and thought leadership skills with internal and/or external VSG stakeholders to align technology solutions with business strategies and deliver successfully

• Develop multi-year Business Solutions with IT systems roadmaps working collaboratively with cross-functional VSG business and IT teams, including IT architects

• Collaborate with IT leadership to develop and drive the execution of short and long-term strategic plans to assure IT Systems' capacity & capability to meet current and future needs to support VSG's business objectives

• Lead team to define and implement needed capabilities and solutions within ERP and other Business Systems to optimize and enhance core business processes

• Acts as a Project Manager for IT related solution implementation with ability to identify options, risks, costs versus benefits, impacts on end-user products and services, business processes, and system priorities

• Conduct research and evaluation of emerging technology trends and assist in new capability implementation and perform feasibility studies for upgrade projects, conversions, and improvements

• Manage operational costs through utilizing standard IT capabilities and business processes and conduct near and long-term cost estimates for projects and services to ensure optimal IT asset utilization

• Ensure the successful delivery of business value through technology projects: alignment of business priorities amongst business leaders and stakeholders, define and oversee program and project deliverables, budgets (CapEx and OpEx), service level agreements, and resource needs

• Maintains oversight relationship with Service Delivery partners, performs routine analysis and reconciliation, acts as escalation point to ensure services meet customer operational requirements, supports VSG's short-term and long-term business goals/strategy, and aligns with IT capabilities

• Oversee the prioritization of IT projects with business teams, securing business and IT resources to drive and implement projects on time, within budget, and with high quality

• Responsible for Sarbanes-Oxley and other applicable compliance in various systems. Responsible for ensuring the operating effectiveness of internal controls, including monitoring processes and practices necessary for legal and ethical compliance

• Supports and maintains the IT DR/BC Strategy for VSG through scheduled testing of systems and processes

• Develops in-depth knowledge of VSG and corporate IT goals and objectives, policies, functions, capabilities, processes, tools, and service providers

• Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of Administration, Finance & Accounting, Sales & Distribution, and Manufacturing to identify and communicate how IT capabilities can support short and long-term business goals

• Facilitates ad hoc reporting to support Administration, Finance & Accounting, Sales & Distribution, and Manufacturing business decisions

• Leads, mentors, and guides IT employees to design and implement required capabilities, optimize & enhance systems, and transactional processes

• Leads identification of IT team requirements and ensures company policies and procedures are followed regarding employment, work environment, and attendance through conducting performance evaluations

• Performance of these essential functions requires regular, consistent availability, accessibility, and presence on-site and after-hours (to address emergencies and critical situations outside of normal business operating hours in the early mornings, evenings, and/or during weekends)

Required Education and/or Experience:

• A BS degree in computer science, related field, or equivalent on-the-job experience

• 3 - 5 years' experience as an IT Manager or IT Project Manager

• 5 - 10 years' experience as an IT end-user analyst in a Manufacturing environment

• 5+ years' experience in Service Delivery Management, Customer Relationship Management, and/or Project Management. Must have experience delivering services and projects via 3rd party providers.

• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills for process definition and root cause analysis

• Strong business acumen, presentation, and communication skills with all internal and external stakeholders, suppliers and vendor partners

• In-depth knowledge of Finance, Accounting, and FP&A ERP areas to identify and communicate how IT solutions can support achieving short and long-term business goals
