The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for an Associate Vice President, Development (AVP) to lead our Heart Walk team in our Boston, MA office.
This position is dedicated to our Heart Walk fundraising campaign and will lead a team of two direct reports.
Lead corporate and individual fundraising for the Heart Walk campaign by identifying, cultivating, and closing $25K-$100K corporate and individual gifts.
Demonstrate success through growth of peer-to-peer fundraising, acquiring new company teams, and developing a 15-person volunteer leadership committee that is invested personally and corporately.
Strong experience in peer-to-peer fundraising preferred.
We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive up to 25% of your base pay.
The potential incentive is based on achieving certain revenue targets and triggers.

Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate, staff, and advise the Boston market's entire operation of the Heart Walk campaign initiatives.
Mentor and supervise assigned staff of 2 and collaborate with corporate and community leaders to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of fundraising efforts.
Guide and direct assigned staff to reach fundraising goals.
Engage, recruit, and mobilize CEOs, corporate leaders, and community leaders to serve on Heart Walk volunteer leadership committees.
Lead existing and new sponsorships and relationships to achieve campaign goals.
Research, identify, and acquire companies to have Heart Walk teams.
Develop and lead/monitor Heart Walk budget within span of control.
Coordinate with business operations to provide seamless donor and participant experience through event logistics excellence.
Qualifications
University/College degree or equivalent experience, preferred.
5 years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or equivalent type experience.
Validated ability to accomplish results through strong volunteer cultivation and management.
Consistent track record in exceeding sales/fundraising goals.
Direct knowledge of special event fundraising tactics is essential.
Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
Ability to do daily local travel up to 75%; requires access to reliable transportation at all times.
