UKG is seeking an experienced Lead Business Data Analyst to join our Digital team to play a key role in transforming our enterprise systems landscape. This role provides an opportunity to partner with UKG business functions to analyze business requirements and understand desired outcomes. As a Lead Business Data Analyst, you will be responsible for the design, development, testing and deployment of new solutions that deliver business value as well as supporting existing software solutions in a complex systems landscape. Qualified candidates must possess experience conducting requirements elicitation, writing user stories, creating solution designs, and building and testing system solutions that meet the business need. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a complex environment, strong communication, collaboration, flexibility, innovative thinking, and self-motivation are required for success. You are expected to contribute to strategic roadmap decision and identify innovative opportunities to transform UKG's business solutions for growth.

Responsibilities:

• Requirements Analysis: Lead requirements elicitation discussions with business stakeholders to understand current pain points and desired outcomes of requested solutions.

• Solution Design: Leveraging your understanding of current technology solutions and business requirements, design new/enhanced systems solutions that are technically sound, deliver business value and meet desired outcomes.

• User Story Development: Transform business requirements into detailed functional requirements and document user stories following best practices

• Software Development: Develop, test, and implement clean, efficient, and maintainable solutions based on UKG requirements leveraging out-of-box functionality wherever possible, i. e. favoring configuration over code. Solutions must be scalable and meet security requirements.

• Testing: Build testable software solutions, define Acceptance Scenarios and execute User test cases. Provide solution demonstrations and lead user testing sessions, when applicable, that result in user acceptance.

• Architectural Design: Participate in design reviews with peers and stakeholders to assess new cross-functional designs of new features and systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

• Stakeholder Management: Provide clear communication to team members and business stakeholders related to requirements, issues, and solution delivery. Build collaborative relationships both within Digital and Business teams.

• Mentorship: Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and growth mindset.

• Agile Practices: Understanding of working in an Agile methodology including delivery through a DevOps Model. Take ownership of the work from requirements to design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance of solutions in production.

• Documentation: Properly document new features, enhancements or fixes to the solution and contribute to training materials.

• Innovation: Stay current with emerging technologies (ex. Generative AI) and industry trends, advocating for their adoption where appropriate to drive innovation and productivity enhancements within Digital and Business teams.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Business Administration, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• 8+ years of business systems analysis or professional software development experience

• 8+ years of experience in Data warehousing. Familiarity with Software Quality Tools like TestRail, Query Surge.

• 5+ years working with Data Analytics/ Data Engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

• Understands Finance Business and its terms. Familiarity with any of the following systems: Azure, AWS, GCP etc.

• Experience in leading teams and overseeing large-scale projects in the role of Product Owner, which includes responsibilities such as defining/refining product vision, prioritizing the product backlog, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring the successful delivery of features that meet customer needs.

• Good to Have experience in Data warehousing testing using SQL, Python, Azure Data Factory.

• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and build solid relationships with team members.
