Life Enrichment Assistant - Full time - 35hrs per week, $19-$21/hr
This is a Tuesday through Saturday schedule.
We are in search of a creative, experienced, and enthusiastic Life Enrichment Assistant who has a genuine love and respect for older adults. Your primary responsibility will be to organize and implement a diverse range of social, educational, recreational, and physical programs. Your guidance will help participants engage in programs that enhance their fitness and well-being. By planning impactful activities, you will bring purpose and meaning to the lives of our vibrant residents. Your skills and dedication will play a crucial role in our mission to provide the highest quality of life for those we serve. Join us in making a meaningful difference!
Common tasks may include:
• Develop creative new activities and programs to meet residents' needs.
• Implement and evaluate existing programs.
• Facilitate engaging physical and aquatic exercise classes,
• Conduct small and large group programs.
• Encourage residents to participate in scheduled events.
• Record resident attendance.
• Create monthly calendar for programming.
• Assist in organization and implementation of special functions.
• Must work every other Sunday.
• Ability to work extra shifts upon request.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must enjoy and be able to work well with older adults, including those with cognitive difficulties/deficits and perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Experience in working with older adults and understanding their varying levels of capabilities as they age.
• Knowledge of operation of audiovisual equipment.
• Has a working knowledge of Microsoft programs including Word/Excel and Publisher.
• Ability to learn and operate computer programs.
• Ability to relate well to all members of the GlenmeadowCommunity.
• Ability to deal tactfully with colleagues, residents, family members, visitors, and the public.
• Knowledge of infection control and Universal Precaution procedures.
• Valid state-issued driver's license preferred.
