Duties you will be responsible for:

Operation of Hematology (Sysmex XN430), Chemistry (Ortho 5600),Microbiology (BioFire), serology and quantitative PCR instruments, including quality control, calibration, maintenance, validations and troubleshooting
Maintain competence to perform pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic procedures on biological specimens to aid health care providers in the diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and prevention of disease.
Evaluate results of calibration and quality control and implement corrective action when indicated.
Determine performance specifications for new methods.
Confirm and verify results through knowledge of techniques, principles, and analyzers and deliver results in a timely manner.
Monitor safety programs in compliance with laboratory regulations (CAP, CLIA, DPH
Utilize laboratory information systems (LIS) or other methods to report patient results accurately and effectively.
Adhere to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies and procedures to ensure patient privacy and maintain the highest level of safety and reliability in testing.
Maintain inventory of supplies and reagents for continuous operation of instrumentation.
Participate in Proficiency Testing per regulations.
Communicate effectively with other Staff members.
Work as a Team with other Staff members to deliver quality patient results.
Treat coworkers, patients, and vendors with respect. Work with Medical Director of Laboratory Services on matters of compliance and patient care
Work with designated reference lab to assure seamless transition of specimens for further analysis.

Minimum requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in medical laboratory science from an accredited college or university with one year of structured clinical laboratory experience in the general areas of a clinical laboratory, including Hematology and Chemistry or
Associate degree in medical laboratory science from an accredited college or university with three year of structured clinical laboratory experience in the general areas of a clinical laboratory, including Hematology and Chemistry
