GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

The Center for Academic Success and Achievement (CASA) supports all students and the academic mission of Framingham State University through its services: Tutoring/Writing Center, Supplemental Instruction, Academic Coaching, and Disability/Access Services. The CASA Administrative Assistant provides overall help with all activities within CASA. The person in this position will interact frequently with students, staff, faculty, parents and prospective students; the position serves as administrative support for the Dean of Student Success and Persistence.

Dean of Student Success and Persistence

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:

Position does not directly supervise other employees. May provide instruction to work-study students.

EXAMPLES OF SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supports the Dean, including preparing reports, triaging requests and scheduling appointments for the Dean
• Serves as the CASA receptionist: answers phones, greets and directs visitors, schedules meetings and appointments, provides resource materials
• Triages questions and refers to CASA staff, Registrar, Advising, etc. as needed
• Participates in the annual budget cycle and tracks spending against budget
• Manages and develops online content
• Creates promotional materials, both print and social media
• Participates in student outreach initiatives, including Starfish
• Hires, trains, and provides instruction to student workers; oversees tutoring data entry
• Generates statistical data for reporting
• Coordinates all purchase requisitions related to office materials, travel, trainings, memberships, food, etc.
• Assumes responsibility for special projects as assigned

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Office work; only weekday hours required

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience working with diverse populations
• Evidence of strong written and communication skills
• Experience developing and sustaining collaborative relationships with colleagues, preferable in support of student success

Additional Information:

This is a part-time, non-benefited, contract position not to exceed 18 hours/week.
