Seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join a team of Transplant Surgeons, Hepatologists, Nephrologists, Advanced Practitioners and House Staff, to provide and coordinate multidisciplinary care for a specialized patient population, just north of Boston, MA.
The Nurse Practitioner will co-manage hepatology, liver transplant and live donor liver patients in a teaching facility.
Under the direction of an attending physician, the Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing various preoperative, postoperative and medical care in the outpatient setting:
formulation and implementation of a diagnosis and treatment plan, ordering and interpretation of laboratory tests, imaging studies, consults in the hepatology and transplant populations, prescribing and/or dispensing medications, educational counseling for patients and families.
Candidate must possess sufficient flexibility and motivation to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment where quality and caring come first.
The ability to interact positively with various members of the multidisciplinary team, patients and their families is paramount to the success of this role.
Practitioners should have at least one year (but preferably three years) of Advanced Practice experience
