LEAD REGISTERED NURSE OB/GYN$37 - $43Reports to: Charge NurseSign on bonus of $5,000- 50% at 3 months, 50% at one year.POSITION SUMMARY:

The Lead RN for the O.B./Gyn department is a full-time, direct care working position. The Lead RN must be flexible, work within an interdisciplinary team, able to multi-task, and work with distraction.

In addition to the RN position description, the Lead RN for the O.B./Gyn department is responsible for the following:

PROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR:

Is reliable and dependable as demonstrated by good punctuality and attendance.
Delegates tasks appropriately, however, is ultimately responsible for the completion of the delegated task.
Attends staff meetings and represents the O.B./Gyn department.

NURSING STAFF:

Directly oversees nursing staff working in the O.B./Gyn department.
Assures adequate provider coverage. Works with the supervisor for staff time off requests and absenteeism coverage.
Participates in nursing staff evaluations.
Submits written documentation in regard to staff disciplinary concerns.
Participates in staff training.

TASKS: - May be delegated appropriately but is ultimately responsible for:

Telephone calls, telephone/walk-in triages and scheduled nurse visits.
Cleaning and care of re-usable instruments.
Maintaining adequate medical supplies. Orders medical supplies routinely.
Assuring all CLIA waved tests have been quality controlled and within the expiration date.
Assuring that all the medications in the department are within the expired date.
Calling in patient prescriptions as needed.
Being the liaison person to the hospital staff for continuity of patient care.

Tracking:
• Tracks abnormal paps, colposcopies, and leeps.
• Tacks missed appointments of post-partum patients.
• Lead RN present a brief in-service on an O.B./Gyn topic to the nursing department two (2) times a year.

QUALITY ASSURANCE/QUALITY IMPROVEMENT:

Maintains awareness of any safety issues within the O.B./Gyn department.
Maintains equipment for proper functioning, repair, or replacement.
Maintains updated policies and procedures relate to the pediatric department.

OTHER:

Other tasks as needed.
