JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), under the direction of the Registered Nurse, is accountable for providing safe, age-specific, direct and indirect patient care within the scope of practice of the Oregon State Board of Nursing.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
Samaritan Wound Care treats acute or chronic wounds caused by diabetes, surgery, injury, poor blood flow and/or other problems. The scope of practice is physician driven and centered around wound, ostomy and continence care while maintaining additional adjunctive therapies such as vein medicine and hyperbaric medicine.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
Current unencumbered Oregon LPN Licensure required.
Healthcare Provider Level BLS required.
PCH Wound Ostomy:
Previous experience in a clinical setting and/or wound care preferred.

Communication: Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and tactfully discuss issues.
Compliance: Ability to evaluate information to determine compliance with laws, regulations, or standards. Use knowledge and judgement stills to determine whether events or processes comply.
Problem solving: Ability to identify complex problems, review related information, employ creativity and alternative thinking to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
Team Building: Ability to work, function and communicate on a multi-disciplinary team. Possess the knowledge and skills to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.
Medical Terminology - Knowledge of medical records, procedures and terminology. Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies, procedures, laws, and regulations. Thorough knowledge of medical/legal obligations.
