JOB SUMMARY

As a Laborer, your role involves a great deal of attention to products being manufactured. You will assist Operators with all functions including daily output in line with production goals, gathering all raw materials needed, assisting with equipment, and preventative maintenance. You will be a part of a team to deliver excellence in the markets we serve.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Ensure the daily output efficiency of each manufacturing line performs to or exceeds the daily production goal.

Work with the Operator to maintain all raw materials needed.

Cross-trained and able to assist the Operator with all manufacturing equipment.

Assist with monthly and yearly preventative maintenance schedules on all manufacturing equipment.

Assist Operators, Mechanics, Maintenance Managers, and vendors on maintenance and training needs.

Responsible for quality control/assurance/defects.

Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and safe.

Report any mechanical issues to the Operator or Mechanic.

Assist with pipe tobacco production as schedule demands.

SUCCESS FACTORSWe will know the Laborer is successful when:

Average output efficiency performs to or exceeds the daily production goal.

Maintaining healthy team relationships with Mechanics, Operators, and Maintenance Manager.

The information provided to the Maintenance Manager is accurate.

Maintaining customer complaints/quality defects in the internal checks system.

Daily start-up and end-day cleanings are performed.

Assist with monthly and yearly preventative maintenance needs.

Qualifications


Preferred one-year related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong teamwork skills.

Ability to anticipate and solve problems.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to meet deadlines.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively in front of groups of customers, employees, and directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply general business concepts using arithmetic, algebra, statistics theory, and probability as required. Ability to perform operations using United States Decimal and Metric units of measurement such as volume, distance, geometric dimensional, and tolerance calculations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Prolonged periods of standing at machinery

Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times.
