Job Summary

Provides pastoral care to patients, family members, and organizational staff experiencing challenge or crisis.

Job Responsibilities

* Responds to code blue and trauma alerts, exemplifying a calming, soothing presence.

* Provides education and direction in the end-of-life decisions and ethical issues upon request.

* Assesses and responds to the spiritual and emotional needs of those counseled, including crisis intervention and bereavement.

* Participates in an interdisciplinary approach to pastoral care and patient health.

* Documents visits and interventions appropriately according to the standards of the healthcare organization.

* Fosters a collaborative relationship with community clergy and faith group leaders.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree or higher in Religious Studies required upon hire OR

* Bachelor's degree or higher in Theology required upon hire OR

* Bachelor's degree or higher in related field required upon hire

* A minimum of 1 year relevant experience required

* No licensure/certification/registration required

* Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
