Our client is seeking a Network Consulting Engineer to join their team. As a Consulting Engineer, you will be part of the Client's team supporting government clients. The ideal candidate will have route/switch skills and must have a current US Government TS clearance due to the nature of the work.

Job Title: Network Consulting Engineer Location: Remote with Travel to Clarksburg, WV - Must be within 4 hours of Clarksburg, WV Pay Range: $55-65 per hour W2

High Level Role Description

Drives problem resolution for issues experienced in customer environments.
Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and resolves incidents related to Cisco products, services, or solutions.
Provides answers for products, services, or solutions questions.
Creates or updates, and delivers problem resolution, project collateral and/or knowledge transfer.
Assists in documenting and resolving technical problems found in products and solutions.
Engages and drives appropriate resources for escalations
Maintains accurate documentation in incident and knowledge management systems
Ensures case management guidelines are followed
Effectively communicates (verbal and written) with the customer and client stakeholders on status and progress of service requests
Individual contributor

Decision Making

Builds productive relationships with customers and takes ownership for customer success.
Fully identifies and resolves issues identified within the case.
Leads by example.
Has a local, site level impact.

Role Specific Responsibilities

Frequently assists other Consulting Engineer's (CE) and Global Delivery Partners with problem resolution.
Submits effective escalations with Engineering teams.
Recognizes and submits bugs with all required related information. Mentors others to file bugs.
Builds and utilizes complex lab setups to duplicate and resolve problems.
Produces and shares intellectual capital (including documentation and training) within technology and adjacent areas for internal audiences, Global Delivery Partners, and customers.
Mentors and develops more junior CE'ss and Global Delivery Partners.
Leverages software skills and tools to configure, deploy and/or troubleshoot client products and solutions. Contribute sin the development of digital intellectual capital (e.g., scripts, digital signatures).

Scope

Typically interfaces with customers, other CE's, Partners, Global Delivery Partners, field personnel, CAP Managers and internal engineering departments

Complexity

Is a technical expert in at least one area ( Enterprise Networking, Security or Cloud) with broad knowledge across the technology. Reads technical documentation, functional specs, RFCs.
Has an advanced knowledge of global common customer issues and is able to they understand the impact to the industry in addition to the team impact.
Comfortable using knowledge to assist with enhancement proposals.

Results

Solves problems of diverse scope and complexity where analysis requires further evaluation of multiple factors and correlation of data.

Expertise

Typically requires BS in a technical field (CS/EE preferred) or equivalent plus 3-6 years related experience.
Professional level (e.g., CCNP) or equivalent relevant certification desired.
Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
Developing ability to function effectively in ambiguous circumstances.
Shares information and communicates clearly with site and/or regional team members to improve team effectiveness.
Has working knowledge of software programmability, automation, orchestration and/or virtualization.

Leadership/Autonomy

Receives limited supervision.
Receives little instruction on routine work and general instruction on new assignments.
Provides guidance and mentoring to other engineers. Translates team goals into own work

Needed Skillsets:

- - - Enterprise Networking
    - Security (Virtual Private Networks, Cisco Identify Services Engine, Cisco IronPort, etc.)
    - Cloud Connectivity/Technologies
    - Clearance - Top Secret
    - U.S. Citizenship

Work Location - Onsite and Remote:

- Role will be primarily remote with infrequent visits to onsite location in Clarksburg, WV. Maybe once per quarter, if that.
- On site to pick up PIV/Laptop
- On site on a case-by-case basis to support maintenance activities
  - Planned maintenance occurs approximately once per month
  - Out of band maintenance for critical security vulnerabilities occurs approximately once per quarter
  - Some maintenance or tech refresh events require on-site personnel to perform installations or manual hardware configuration/connection
  - Maintenance or tech refresh of equipment impacting remote access capabilities requires onsite personnel

Due to the nature of the work * The successful applicant will be performing work on US Government classified environments, and therefore, must be a U.S. Person (i.e., U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, asylee, or refugee). This position may also perform work that the U.S. government has specified can only be performed by a U.S. citizen on U.S. soil. The successful applicant must have a current US Government TS clearance. *
