We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented assistant controller to work under the direction of a controller and assist with the preparation of financial statements, budget reports, and internal control systems. The assistant controller's duties also include managing payroll, accounts payable/receivable, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial audits. You must be able to work independently and with the highest levels of integrity.

Duties and Responsibilities
Manages and streamline the month-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
Prepare, review, and distribute monthly financial reports.
Prepare and review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation and other month-end tasks to ensure accuracy.
Assisting with the development and evaluation of budgets and preparing budget reports.
Develop and implement internal controls to ensure financial integrity and prevent errors or fraud.
Responsible for the integrity of all aspects of the general ledger.
Overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll, identifying discrepancies, and reconciling accounts.
Preparing and assisting with audits.
Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
Following changes in regulations and compiling reports regarding compliance issues, standards, and accounting practices.
Foster a collaborative, growth-focused environment that emphasizes continuous learning and development.
Performs all other functions as required
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
7+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects.
Accounting/GAAP knowledge
Excellent problem solving/judgment skills and the ability to look creatively at situations for solutions.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work with little to no supervision.
Advanced/expert knowledge of Microsoft Office with a heavy emphasis on Excel (creation and use of complex formulas and functions, pivot table creation and maintenance, etc.)
