Goodwill Industries of Kentucky is looking for an energetic, self-motivated, dynamic professional Career Development Facilitator to join our team! The Career Development Facilitator advises and assists participants and provides educational and vocational guidance services within the Aspire Program.
The role will facilitate and coordinate programs and activities that promote the personal, educational, and employment-related development of justice-involved participants.
This role will assist individuals in reducing barriers to reentry into the community, obtaining and maintaining employment, achieving their career goals, and improving productivity and employability skills in order to reach their vocational and personal potentials while reducing recidivism and improving quality of life.

Full-time, Non-Exempt

Essential Duties and Tasks:

Counsel and interview participants to obtain information about employment history, educational background and career goals to help them understand and overcome barriers while helping to meet all Aspire benchmarks.
Assess needs for assistance, rehabilitation, financial aid, or additional vocational training, and refer participants to appropriate services within grant parameters.
Makes referrals and communicates with Aspire partners as necessary.
Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required by Goodwill and the Kentucky Justice and Public Safety Cabinet.
Present self-help or information sessions on subjects related to education and career planning.
Prepare justice-involved individuals for later vocational and educational experiences by encouraging them to explore learning and training opportunities.
Develops relationships with community partners in and out of the grant who can be utilized to assist with topics including financial empowerment, digital literacy, behavioral health, legal, self-esteem, drug/alcohol prevention/abuse, social media, cultural diversity, career pathways, credentialing, and post-secondary education exploration, etc.
Prioritizes compliance with policies set forth by Goodwill, corrections partners and the Kentucky Justice and Public Safety Cabinet.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree preferred, major in Counseling, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Education, Facilitation, or Training or similar field; or years of experience in lieu of degree.
Previous work and/or life experience with justice-involved individuals is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated analytical capability and understanding.
Must possess versatility, discretion and good interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a variety of justice-involved individuals, providing excellent customer service.

Physical Demands:

This job may have physical requirements that are considered sedentary work.
Sedentary work involves sitting for long periods of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, and stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing, and visual acuity and occasional lifting up to 15 pounds.
Travel across to other locations beyond the assigned work location is occasionally required.
