The Public Protection Cabinet, Division of Human Resources has a job opening for a HumanResource Specialist Senior!

The mission of The Public Protection Cabinet (PPC) is to keep Kentuckians safe in business,leisure, and daily life. We ensure safe and fair operation of some of the most importantinstitutions in the Commonwealth. From sporting events, to building and banking, our diverseagencies share a common goal-providing the best service to every citizen and business in thestate.

While this job may be challenging at times, it comes with a purpose of supporting Cabinetemployees who provide services to individuals all across the Commonwealth. This positionallows you to enhance your professional level human resource skills in all aspects.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Learn to interprets statutes and regulations regarding HR functions as they relatedirectly to personnel, payroll and benefits.
Reviews, evaluates, and makes recommendations regarding payroll and personnel.
Review and become proficient in processing benefit actions including healthinsurance qualifying events, FMLA, sick and annual leave sharing, worker'scompensation, etc.
Provide guidance to agency level liaisons regarding HR related matters.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION:Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:Two years of professional experience in human resource administration.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:NONE

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:Administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.):NONE

Working Conditions

Incumbents working in this job title perform duties in an office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
