Description

The mission of the Kentucky Energy & Environment Cabinet (EEC) is to improve the quality of life for allKentuckians by protecting our land, air, and water resources by utilizing our natural resources in anenvironmentally conscientious manner. We do this by helping families connect with nature and preserving theCommonwealth's natural heritage; and by supporting innovative, resilient, and sustainable energy solutionsthat together bring economic benefit to the commonwealth.

This is a federally funded time-limited (FFTL) position. This means it is a position that is paid entirely as the result of a federal grant. The duration of employment shall not exceed the life of the federal grant that funds the position. An employee appointed to an FFTL position is required to meet the minimum requirements for the classification. Further, an employee appointed to an FFTL position is designated as an unclassified (non-merit) employee. An FFTL employee is eligible to receive benefits at the same level as a classified (merit) employee in a permanent position.

By joining the Division of Abandoned Mine Lands, Program Management Branch as an Administrative SpecialistSenior in Franklin County, you will have the opportunity to provide professional support to the Branch Managerand Staff. The selected candidate will develop and implement programs, projects, and activities to support thebranch and the mission of the division.

Holders of the Administrative Specialist Senior position will complete tasks such as:

Provide professional administrative support to the Branch Manager and Section Staff in the implementation ofprogrammatic objectives.
Coordinate activities for the branch in areas of material and supplies, uniforms, and travel and trainingregistration.
Order and distribute supplies required by staff.
Review, organize, and maintain files and information related to the program.
Develop reports and review data.

Desired candidates possess the following requisite skills or experience applicable to the position:

Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to multitask.
Commitment to teamwork.

Additional position information: Infrequent travel may be required. Duties of this position will generally beperformed in an office setting.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION:Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
