The Cardiac Catheterization Technologist II plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of cardiac catheterization procedures and works collaboratively with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. This role emphasizes a commitment to patient and family needs while maintaining professional standards in all interactions.

Key Responsibilities:Collaboration and Patient Care:

  • Work as an essential member of the patient care team, ensuring seamless coordination and continuity of care.
  • Communicate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses, to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and their families, explaining procedures and answering questions to alleviate concerns.
Technical Expertise:
  • Assist in performing cardiac catheterization procedures, adhering to established protocols and standards.
  • Monitor patients during procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety at all times.
  • Operate and maintain specialized cardiac catheterization equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any equipment-related issues promptly during procedures.
Patient- and Family-Centered Care:
  • Foster a philosophy of patient- and family-focused care in all interactions, prioritizing the well-being of the patient.
  • Communicate clearly with patients and their families, providing education and support to enhance their understanding of the procedure.
  • Act as an advocate for patients and their families, addressing their needs and ensuring a positive care experience.
Professional Development:
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in cardiac catheterization techniques and technologies.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain and enhance skills in line with current best practices.
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Proven experience in cardiac catheterization procedures, with a strong focus on patient-centered care.
  • Skills: Strong communication, collaboration, and technical skills are required to operate complex equipment and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Certification: Relevant certifications in cardiac catheterization technology are preferred or required, depending on the institution’s standards.
