Description

Schowalter Villa is looking for a full-time Maintenance Mechanic to join our team!

Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Maintenance Mechanic is to diagnose, repair, adjust and maintain equipment utilized by the Maintenance and Grounds department. The Maintenance Mechanic will maintain an inventory control program to insure availability repair supplies. This position may perform the duties of Maintenance Technician as needed in order to contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the department.

Essential Job Functions:Diagnose and repair various equipment

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and machinery.
Diagnose mechanical issues and troubleshoot problems effectively.
Implement a preventative maintenance schedule for equipment and machinery.
Perform emergency repairs as needed.
Conduct inspections to ensure equipment is safe and operational.
Replace or repair defective parts using hand tools and power tools.
Maintain accurate records of service and repairs insuring appropriate inventory of repair supplies.
Oversee housekeeping and safety protocol of the maintenance shop and building and ensure and organized and efficient shop.

Assist the maintenance and grounds team

Repair structures and building systems
- Complete work orders and perform other duties as requested.
- Maintain structures and building systems in a satisfactory condition.
- Repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and electrical systems as needed.
- Maintain plumbing systems and does repair as needed.
Maintain supplies and equipment needed to perform daily maintenance tasks
- Maintain equipment and work areas in a safe, clean and attractive manner.
- Inform supervisor of areas needing attention or repair and of needed equipment.
Work independently and consider resident's needs
- Understand and follow directions of supervisor, often working with little or no supervision.
- Perform work unobtrusively in consideration of resident's needs.
- Provide off-hour on-call assistance to address urgent repairs and maintenance needs as they arise.
Other duties
- Assist with snow removal as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

Must be at least eighteen [18] years of age
Must have previous experience as a maintenance mechanic or similar role
Must have a good understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems
Must be familiar with using various power and hand tools
Prefer a minimum of 1-year experience performing general maintenance
Must be able to work tactfully with residents, visitors, and employees
Must have valid KS driver's license and meet Bluestem driving requirements
Must obtain certification forklift certification upon hire (company provide)
