Responsibilities
SUMMARY
The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for communication both internally and externally within KGPCo's network with a focus on ensuring a high level of customer service. This position will work closely with KGPCo's network of carriers, brokers, customers, and internal stakeholders representing the various departments within the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Respond to e-mails/inquiries from internal customers such as customer service, planning, DC operations teams, sales
Respond to e-mails/inquiries from external customers such as customers and carriers.
Provides constant communications of service issues to appropriate personnel and departments, both internal and external
Support DOT Transportation guidelines and interpretation for moving hazardous materials
Provide support through the KGPCo ACD transportation service line and the transportation group mailbox
Provide research, price quoting and solutions to RFP's and RFI's (Request for Price and Request for Information
Reconsignment of shipments and direct carrier contact
Research disputes as assigned for Transportation
Manage shipment exception and tracking reports
Serve as a resource to the freight audit and payment process
Freight invoice GL coding
Freight invoice audit and manual invoice process management as needed
Assist and provide support for truckload routing and LTL carrier issues
Perform other transportation duties as assigned.
SAFETY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Adhere to, promote, and accept responsibility for compliance to Federal and Local Occupational Safety and Health Regulations, Industry Consensus Standards, and KGPCo Injury and Illness Prevention Program Manual.
Participate in job site safety and hazard analysis.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Ability to read and understand basic instructions, short communications, and memos; draft simple written correspondence; and effectively communicate in one-on-one or small group settings with customers, clients, and colleagues.
Proficiency in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. Capable of performing calculations involving American currency and standard units of weight, volume, and distance.
The ability to follow written, verbal, or diagram-based instructions and solve problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
