Description
The Infection Control Specialist is primarily responsible for overseeing clinical operations for the UNE Dental Hygiene onsite clinic in the Westbrook College of Health Professions on the Portland campus.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
Track inventory of clinic supplies/place orders/stock supplies.
Monitor clinic autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaner, and instrument sanitizer.
Wash, package, sterilize, and store student cassettes & instruments.
Troubleshoot and identify equipment issues; work with service vendors to plan maintenance and repair visits.
Manage weekly spore testing.
Work with students to assign student lockers and cubbies.
Guide students in use of sterilization equipment and proper infection control protocols.
Perform water testing and monitor results; follow up with necessary waterline treatment.
Maintain logs and maintenance records for clinic equipment.
Other duties as assigned.
Non-clinical responsibilities:

Create work orders/requests for UNE facilities support for clinic issues.
Work with and support the Assistant Director of Clinical Education and Clinical Course Directors.
Follow all HIPAA protocols.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred, or minimum of 3-4 years of relevant infection control and work experience in dental setting.

Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Ability to keep information confidential.
Experience in task management and managing clinic operations.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to provide excellent customer service to a diverse group of students, faculty and professional staff.
Current CPR certification.
