Job Objective:

As the Facility Housekeeper you will ensure a clean and safe environment of the facility while ensuring that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out.

What You Will Do:

Oversee general cleaning throughout the facility
Clean and stock public area restrooms in facility
Operate commercial laundry equipment as necessary
Clean office areas and empty trash as needed
Provide oversight and feedback to leadership as needed for non-employee's performance (volunteers, etc. )
Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor coordinate community service workers, keep track of participants time worked, and prepare reports as needed
Utilize cleaning equipment for floors and/or carpet (i. e. , buffer, vacuum, broom, mop, etc. )
Maintain organized storage and work areas
Work overtime with authorized approval to ensure coverage of facility operations
Maintain attendance in accordance with facility guidelines
Assist Maintenance Supervisor
Cross train to additional task as directed
Communicate appropriately to leadership
Attend monthly in-service meetings and staff meetings as needed
Contribute to a positive work environment
Demonstrate teamwork
Assist other departments as needed or directed
Maintain a professional demeanor at all times
Other tasks as assigned by leadership

Minimum Qualifications:The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Background Checks: Position requires a background check to be completed, and all background check results will be reviewed.

Experience: None required

Certifications: Must have a valid driver's license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver's qualification standard; must complete Safe From Harm training within the first 90 days of employment.

Skills/Abilities:

Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele.
Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and ability to learn electronic reporting systems.
Must demonstrate knowledge and competency in using equipment for Housekeeping

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Good speaking, hearing and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity
Lifting, pulling, and pushing of materials up to 50 pounds
May require bending, squatting, walking.
May require standing for extended

Travel: No travel required

Working Conditions: Work is performed in a typical office environment. Working conditions may include occasional exposure to chemicals and dust. Standard safety precautions needed. May require some evenings and weekends
