Summary of Position:
Production Engineer is a position focused on supporting and enhancing the production processes. Works closely with front line manufacturing (production), collaborates with other departments, and implements continuous improvement initiatives. Provides technical support and contributes to a safe and efficient production environment
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Works closely with Engineering Manager with analyzing and optimizing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall production
Collaborates with other departments including Product Development, Technical Service and Quality Control to streamline production processes
Utilizes Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to create detailed models and drawings of mechanical systems and process improvements.
Acts as technical expert on production floor to include training production staff on new processes and/or equipment
Identifies and researches opportunities for process improvements, cost reduction, and efficiency gains for Production
Assists in problem solving for production issues, proposing and implementing effective solutions
Collaborates with Product Development to handoff new systems, equipment and/or products to production
Identify and resolve issues with machinery and extrusion processes.
Schedule and oversee preventive maintenance of production equipment.
Writes and maintains SOPs as needed
Adheres to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment
Adheres to all company/departmental policies and procedures related to safety
Perform other duties as assigned
POSTIONAL REQUIREMENTS (COMPETENCIES)

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Technical
Experience with 2D or 3D Modeling. Preferably in Autodesk Inventor, CAM, or AutoCAD or other similar software
Proficient with MS Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Basic knowledge of project management software package (url removed)
Personal protective equipment (PPE) knowledge and usage
