David Mason Associates Structural Team is focused on the design & analysis of building structures, framing & foundations.
Our team establishes structural designs based on IBC/ASCE requirements, including building loads, creating structural narratives & calculations of the gravity & lateral systems.
DMA Supports clients in the education, healthcare & utility industries, among others.
With a long history of relationships within the Chicago region, weve also had the opportunity to work on iconic projects such as the University of Illinois Outpatient Surgery Center & specialty Clinics & Cudahy Hall renovation at Loyola University As a Project Manager on our team, you will collaborate with a diverse group of engineering and architecture professionals to create building and facility designs for government, education, and healthcare clients.
Beyond design work, you will have the chance to enhance your skills in collaboration, project management, leadership, and client engagement.
This role involves working on multi-disciplinary projects, mentoring junior engineers, and participating in marketing and business development efforts by building client relationships and preparing proposals.
Our Chicago Structural Office is looking for a hands-on Project Manager with previous design experience who is ready to jump in & support the team.
Our ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's Degree, has 10 years of related engineering experience, a minimum of 5 years in structural, building design & holds a Professional Engineering License (Preferably an SE) in the state of Illinois.

Review client requested proposals or plans to determine procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements and allotment of available resources for all phases of each project (estimating, scheduling, design, permitting, construction support and close-out).
Supports and develops project proposals through establishing, delegating, and performing the outlined work plan, assignments and staffing for each phase of assigned project(s), including, but not limited to durations, hourly rates, budget, and schedule.
Serve as primary contact for exchange of project information and communication between the firm and the client, with the support of senior staff.
Complete and review status reports and monitor intermediate and internal design reviews, such that documents adhere to the firms standards for completeness, quality, and accuracy.
Ensure compliance with the clients standards.
Prepare project reports and schedules for management and client requests.
Ensure that all forms and scoping documents are complete and available for project team consumption.
Direct and review approach used by project staff in completing assignments.
Confer with other project managers and senior project staff to ascertain coordination, completeness, and accuracy of critical technical and non-technical requirements.
Provides technical support or clarification on questions from the client, or members of the project team.
Write technical reports, memos, or other correspondence that conform to the prescribed style and format of the client and the firm.
This may include final exhibit reviews and legal descriptions based on division and state requirements.
May sign/seal drawings or other required documentation based on division and firm policies.
May support Division Recruitment efforts including participation in virtual & in-person interviews.
May provide and support initial new hire and ongoing training as applicable.
Support marketing efforts through technical writing in response to RFQs and RFPs.
Monitors new technology, evaluates, and recommends purchase of new equipment, software, and supplies.
Follow and abide by the DMA employee and safety manuals.
Other duties as assigned.
