Certified Veterinary Technician to join our team!

We are in the fabulous neighborhood of River North!

We are 5 blocks west of the WaterTower Place on Miracle Mile, 4 blocks from Oak Street Shops.

Easily accessible by the CTA (El train & buses): Near the Brown line and Red line Chicago stations (El trains). Steps away from the Clark Street Bus (bus 22) and the Chicago Avenue Bus (bus 66).

Street parking is easy to come by- however it is paid by the hour. Parking app Spot Hero can be used to find nearby garage parking- We reimburse parking up to $14 per day!

Our Clinic:

In addition to recently adding an Imagyst to our team, we offer orthopedics, advanced soft tissue surgery, Laser therapy, VOM/Vetrostim therapy, Platelet Rich Plasma, Stem Cell, ultrasound. We are equipped for exotics, but do not currently have a DVM treating exotic species at this time. We also have grooming, doggy daycare, and cat boarding facilities on premises.

Our technicians are relied upon for their technician skills! We love our technicians to draw blood, run in house lab tests, administer treatments to our patients, educate our clients, set up and run anesthesia, perform dental scaling/polishing, dental radiographs etc!

7:00am - 8:00pm

Wednesday

7:00am - 8:00pm

Thursday

7:00am - 8:00pm

Friday

7:00am - 8:00pm

Saturday

9:00am - 4:00pm

Sunday

10:00am - 2:00pm

Shift Details:

Shifts are flexible!

morning shifts (7-3)

mid-day shifts (10-6)

and evening shifts (12-8)
• Weekly hours are between 36 & 40 hours*

Compensation:

$27-32/hr
• $1,500 Sign On Bonus for Credentialed Technicians*

ResponsibilitiesHow you'll make an impact:

Maintain and uphold Core Values and Mission Statement of MVP.

Provide guidance to the support staff to assure that the shift flows well.
Mentor team members for career advancement and personal development towards goals.
Provide input to the hospital manager for 360-degree employee performance evaluations.
Provide patient care under the supervision and direction of a DVM.
Maintain excellent client communication.

Record all pertinent medical, client and case related information in the patient record accurately with appropriate grammar, terms, and accurate information.
Review medical records, estimates or discharge instructions with clients.
Answer client's inquiries about basic animal care questions and routine procedures; handle client's medical questions with confidence and direct to veterinarians when appropriate.

QualificationsTalents you'll bring to MVP:

Must be proficient in a variety of skills ranging from but not limited to laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, surgery, dental and nursing skills.
Ability to demonstrate patience and composure in stressful situations, and ability to handle a fast-paced environment.

Ability to stay calm and efficient during a medical crisis.
Ability to give SQ, IM and IV injections.
Knowledge of usage, dosage, and common side-effects for commonly used prescription drugs and ability to readily explain them to the clients.
Knowledge of the common anesthesia and recovery states and ability to alert veterinarians when symptoms change or when concerns arise with hospitalized patients.
Ability to properly extubate, monitor temperature and recover a patient from anesthesia.

The employee must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics, and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently.
The employee must be confident around pets.
