As an Electrical Design Engineer in the Systems Integration Group (SIG) of Micron Technology, Inc, you will define, design, and implement sophisticated test equipment to support semiconductor manufacturing. You will apply circuit theory to design solutions on printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies and at the system level. You will work closely with other team members located around the world including other engineering subject areas, technicians, procurement, planning, and external contract manufacturers.

This Electrical Design Engineer position in the Systems Integration Group (SIG) of Micron Technology, provides opportunities in many diverse fields of electrical engineering including:

analog circuits
digital design
system architecture
circuit simulation
high speed signals
schematic capture
PCB layout support
design verification testing

You will detail designs by developing requirements specifications, theory of operation, schematics, test plans, and lab reports. Design verification is conducted on prototypes in a lab using equipment such as digital multimeter (DMM), oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, and time-domain reflectometer (TDR). The position also has opportunities in Python scripting towards design automation and data analysis.

Responsibilities and Tasks

Analog circuit design
FPGA design with Verilog and System Verilog
Schematic entry
Work closely with PCB designers on layout
Debug and verification of PCB assemblies
Authoring requirements specifications, design documentation, test plans, and lab reports
Python scripting and data analysis
Use lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, TDR, DMM, power supplies, etc.
Circuit simulation

Researches, gathers, and analyzes information related to specific assignments within the technical field

Skills and Experience:

Integrates knowledge of basic concepts, principles, and theories of technical field
Applies basic communication skills

Designs, defines and implements complex system requirements for customers and/or prepares studies and analyzes existing systems. Determines system specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system. Identifies, analyzes and resolves program support deficiencies. Develops and recommends corrective actions.
