Job Summary:

The Ingredient Inventory Purchasing Coordinator is a key member of the Feed Ingredient Team responsible for purchasing and delivering ingredients to our 11 company-owned mills. This position plays an integral role in executing ingredient purchasing analysis, coordinating deliveries, and monitoring inventory to support the egg production process. The role involves external vendor interaction and internal collaboration with departments such as Nutrition, Purchasing, Accounting, Compliance, and Mill Operations.

Essential Job Functions:

This list of duties and responsibilities is not exhaustive and may be expanded as management deems necessary:

Track ingredient inventories and usage at the mills, coordinating incoming deliveries and managing trucking logistics as needed.
Analyze and benchmark ingredient costs by mill location, comparing them against available geographical pricing data.
Administer, coordinate, and communicate purchase orders, ensuring alignment with accounting and software processes.
Facilitate information flow between Nutrition, Accounting, and Operations to support daily production functions.
Work proficiently in multiple software systems to ensure smooth operational processes.
Develop strong relationships with key suppliers to advocate for Versova's interests.
Collaborate proactively with the team to deliver feed efficiently and cost-effectively to all company-owned mills.
Continuously seek process improvements, develop efficiencies, and expand the use of existing and new software tools.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with employees, customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills with a passion for problem-solving.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex situations through critical thinking and decision-making skills.
High proficiency in data creation and analysis, particularly within Microsoft Excel.
Excellent attention to detail with strong multitasking capabilities.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, continually evolving work environment.
Strong commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
Experience in supply chain management functions is a plus.
Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline, OR 3+ years of relevant experience in a similar role.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in ingredient purchasing, inventory coordination, or feed mill operations.

Work Environment:

Primarily an office-based role, with frequent sitting, computer use, and communication via email and telephone.
Occasional travel required to visit company feed mills and suppliers' production facilities. Overnight travel may be necessary. Mills are located in Ohio (2), Iowa (3), Colorado (1), Utah (1), Idaho (1), Washington (2), and Oregon (1).
